What is Rock Block?


At Rock Block students learn to play music through the collaborative experience of playing in their own rock band!  Students are placed in a band with other kids their age, based on the instrument they play, (or wish to learn, no prior experience necessary!) and their current skill level.
Every week at their scheduled rehearsal time, bands will have an hour and a half practice monitored and lead by their band manager.  Band managers are professional, working musicians from the Nashville community with prior experience in music and/or child education.
Bands choose the music they want to play, including writing original songs and/or learning the works of others, as well as coming up with their own original band name. Each band will have the opportunity to:
At the end of the 8-week session Rock Block culminates in the Saturday Night Showcase! Showcases will take place at Fanny’s House of Music on May 14th 6pm (out on the lawn), where bands will perform for an audience of their peers, family members, and fans!

Where is Practice?


Rock Block will be held at Fanny’s House of Music on Saturdays from 9-5pm. Your child will be scheduled for an hour and half practice during this time. Week night practices are also available.
